After Marriage Equality: The Future of LGBT Rights
The Supreme Court's decision to legalize same-sex marriage was a landmark victory for LGBT rights. But what does the future hold for LGBT people in the United States? In his new book, After Marriage Equality, law professor and LGBT rights advocate Kenji Yoshino argues that the fight for LGBT equality is far from over.
Yoshino identifies three major challenges that LGBT people still face: discrimination, violence, and poverty. Discrimination against LGBT people is still widespread in housing, employment, and public accommodations. Violence against LGBT people is also a serious problem, particularly for transgender people of color. And LGBT people are more likely to live in poverty than non-LGBT people.

Yoshino argues that these challenges are not simply the result of individual prejudice or ignorance. Rather, they are the result of structural inequality. Laws, policies, and institutions all contribute to the discrimination, violence, and poverty that LGBT people face.
To address these challenges, Yoshino calls for a new approach to LGBT rights. He argues that we need to move beyond the focus on marriage equality and instead focus on creating a more just and equitable society for all LGBT people.
Yoshino's book is a timely and important contribution to the debate about the future of LGBT rights. He provides a clear and concise analysis of the challenges that LGBT people still face, and he offers a compelling vision for a more just and equitable future.
